Affordable Friday Home Decor – Fall Edition

Welcome to our new home! I really wanted to do everything possible to add little fall touches to this place to make it feel super inviting and cozy while we’re staying here. Squeezing a family of four and a dog into a 250 square-foot apartment is not easy, but we are going to make the best of it! As of now, it still looks like will be here pretty temporarily, so fingers crossed that’s true!

Anyway, I found some super cute and really affordable stuff from Walmart to decorate and I wanted to share it with you guys in today’s blog. I feel like I have to start with this four pack of farmhouse style mugs. I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered them, but I for sure wasn’t expecting what I got. I thought they would be so much smaller and thinner, but they have a great weight to them.

Oh my gosh, I love how big they are! They are the perfect mug for cozying up with a warm cup of coffee or a cup of hot chocolate this fall or winter! They are stunning and look handmade. The fact that each one is only around $4 is just insane! I got two sets so I would have 8 total because I absolutely love them and I might even put them on our floating shelves in our new house because I think they’d be so gorgeous to display.

They also come in navy, red, and a really pretty yellow color. You will not be disappointed if you have these mugs. Just a little designer tip: if you have mismatch mugs replace them! We had mismatch mugs for so many years, and I do not know what it is, but there’s just something about having a beautiful matched mug set that makes you feel good. I got rid of almost all of our mismatch mugs, except for a few very sentimental ones, and I just find myself happy when I’m reaching for a nice mug from a mug set in the morning. I don’t know what it is but I swear it’s a thing!

Another one of my favorite pieces that we had to the house is this woodwick pumpkin butter candle. The best part about this candle is not only the amazing smell. Oh my gosh, your house will smell like a pumpkin pie!  I love the natural wood wick and how it burns. It sounds like a crackling fire and it just immediately makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. This is a must get candle for fall.

I used another candle to decorate and it’s only $9. This candle smells amazing. I got the coconut, citrus and amber scent. But I also just love love love this candle for decorating. The packaging and label are so beautiful that this is perfect to put on any shelves or console table where you want a beautiful candle to decorate. You just can’t beat the $9 price. The seagrass basket that’s next to it is so versatile and I just love to use it as a decor piece.

Let’s talk about some of the other items on the shelves. Like the wood and metal lantern and the ‘Home Sweet Home’ sign. First, the ‘Home Sweet Home’ sign is $4. It’s so cute and perfect to add a little decoration to really anywhere in your house. Let me say that again. It’s $4! I feel like this one will sell out super fast and definitely snag it if you want it.

Then I was so blown away when I got this wood and metal lantern. I guess I wasn’t really paying attention to the dimensions when I bought it, I just knew it came in two sizes and I wanted the bigger one and I figured the bigger one was the one that was more expensive so I ordered the $16 option. I was not expecting how big it was going to be when I got it. Not too big. But just big enough that it fills up space on an open shelf perfectly and just looks like it costs a lot of money.

If you look at the reviews there’s over 75 4.5 to 5 star reviews. It really is just absolutely stunning, especially in person and the quality is amazing! The only bad review on the site is somebody’s who’s arrived broken. But mine arrived perfectly and if for whatever reason yours happened to be broken, Walmart is great about replacing things. This is a must get in my opinion!

Another absolutely beautiful item for decorating your home is the 16 inch woven tray. This tray is not only great for decorating on your coffee table or ottoman, but it’s also great to sit up against the wall to decorate shelves with open spaces. We used one in our old house to decorate the shelves around our fireplace and I got this one to do the same in our new home. I actually bought two of them to put on either side of the fireplace in the shelving. Really there’s just so many places you can decorate with a basket like this and again check out the reviews on Walmart’s website.

I also wanted to add some fun fall accents. So we got some fall leaf garland which I love and I’m gonna put on top of our mantle above our fireplace in the new house. I also bought the set of three white and orange foam pumpkins. I really love to decorate with pumpkins and these are really pretty because they have a beautiful iridescent gold sheen to them.

Speaking of pumpkins, oh my gosh this sign is everything! I did not know what to expect, but I am so glad I got it! I got it in size 24 x 30 and as you can see, it’s really big! But if you don’t need something this big, they have smaller sizes that are really affordable. The fact that it’s framed, it just looks so nice and looks like it was framed professionally. It really is truly is a piece of a gorgeous art for your home in the fall. There’s only one review on the website, but it’s 5 stars because it really is just so beautiful!

Last, but definitely not least, is the cutest outdoor doormat ever! You guys know I’m totally embracing y’all now that I live in the south! This doormat just makes me happy every time I see it, and I feel like it will make people happy who come to my house. It’s only $21. It’s actually on sale right now from $28 and I highly recommend it!

Then… you walk inside and a tornado happens! As you can see, we’re still working on some of the other spaces. We’re so grateful to have a roof over our heads so we are going to make the best of every moment in this apartment! We just have quite a bit of stuff as a family of four. Five including Owen! Sure, we are still getting settled, but we will get there! I’ll give you a video tour on my stories soon as well!

We needed a sleeping solution for Molly and I am so grateful we got this inflatable air mattress for kids. It’s perfect because it’s super affordable at only $24 and we can now use it in the future when we have guests over with children or if we travel to visit friends and family and need something to bring for the kids to sleep. We got one for Riley too just for this reason! We use this pump to blow it up, and it’s only $11!
